WW1 GERMAN EMIL BUSCH A-G RATHENOW, FERNGLAS 08, MILITARY BINOCULARS WITH MATCHING CASE
This is a very nice set of WW1 German military binoculars with matching case and leather strap. The binoculars have been stamped ‘Fernglas 08, Emil Busch A-G Rathenow, No 140361’. The manufacturers were Emil Busch AG Rathenow. The “Fernglas 08” binoculars were commissioned by the German Government in 1908, hence the suffix “08” and became the standard German infantry binoculars on all fronts in WW1 and were produced by a multitude of sub-contracted manufacturers. Fernglas 08 are Galilei type binoculars with a cast alloy body and a field of view of 77.4 m/1000m. Stamped on the bridge is “VII.18”.
