WW2 GERMAN ORDER OF THE GERMAN EAGLE, THIRD CLASS WITH SWORDS BY GODOT
This is a very nice and Desirable WW2 German political award, the Order of the German Eagle in its original box which is also in very nice condition, instituted by Adolf Hitler on May 1, 1937 and awarded largely to foreign diplomats sympathetic to Nazism. Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh were Americans honored with the award. This example , measures 45mm from edge to edge, with all inlay work in very good condition obverse and reverse. The suspension ring bears the imprinted maker's mark "21" and "900", indicating the silver content. The swords added to the cross indicates that the medal was awarded partially for military merit.
